Head Trip, while a new brand, is a manufacturing entity that has been around for a while and has manufactured helmets for both Rock Hedz and Orosi. While the Pro-Tec and Cascade helmets use a plastic shell, Head Trip is full-on carbon and carbon/Kevlar laminates. And Head Trip uses pressure and injects precise amounts of resin into its molds, which results in a lighter, stronger helmet. In addition to a bomber shell, Head Trip helmets are lined with a half inch of Ensolite and come with a secondary Ensolite foam liner to further absorb impacts. Accompanying sizing pads, and three shell sizes, will ensure a solid fit for most heads. Out of the box, the Head Trip Daffy provided just about the perfect fit. A few sizing pads and an adjustment of the four-point strap system later and we were dialed. Note that if you punch in www.headtriphelmets.com you will find a site for helmets that are entertaining yet hardly functional.
