Argosy, We-no-nah
Put-In: Introduced to fill the gap between We-no-nah's Vagabond and Rendezvous solos, the Argosy still has its own character. This small solo (the antithesis of its name) was tested in the Kevlar Flex-core construction with wood gunwales. We-no-nah's no-frills trim keeps the weight down but has a utilitarian look, and the ends seem unfinished. Utility is consistent with the We-no-nah "look" - if you appreciate the function, you will appreciate the form.
Performance: The Argosy offers everything expected from a We-no-nah - good tracking and efficiency for a small package, with a focus on paddling ease. Although paddlers new to solo boats may initially find it quick to respond, stability is solid and comfort is acquired almost immediately. There is a nice balance between the design needs for tracking and the quick turning and responsiveness required for more technical waters.
Comfort: Sitting or kneeling in the Argosy was a pleasure. The recently updated foot brace and relatively new adjustable seat (both standard with composite constructions) made fine-tuning the fit a breeze. However, in the model tested, the thwart behind the seat was a bit close for comfort and may bother larger paddlers. The tumblehome and gunwale angles allow easy access to the water.
Take-Out: The Argosy is a fine choice for those who desire a versatile day-tripper. It has the capacity for a small amount of gear and just enough glide to still be fun, so an overnighter isn't out of the question. This boat favors its Vagabond more than its Rendezvous heritage.
5-Point Rating: Speed, 3; Maneuverability, 4.5; Tracking 2.5; Stability, 4; Comfort, 4.5

| I recently purchased a Champlain Kevlar with a center seat and web fore and aft seats. This canoe is sensational. It took a bit of paddling to get used to the ultra light weight. I paddle this canoe sitting in the front seat facing rearward. With proper ballast; the Champlain is super easy to paddle. The glide is fantastic and it responds precisely to the J Stroke. Actually a quick twist of the wrist is all that's necessary to keep this canoe driving strait. I, however, can not paddle from the center seat. The paddle just doesn't have the proper affect on the boat from that position. I'd not order that option. The boat will turn on a dime. It is fast and it is stable. Windy days can create a challenge, but then, wind will do that. An otter tail paddle is a pleasure with this canoe and a beaver tail will really make her move out. Love it! Loading and unloading off the top of my pickup cap is a breeze. And the quality is supurb...I would buy another one if needed. |

I really love them.Just got my Handbags! They are absolutely beautiful, and the quality is just amazing. Luxury & fashion & cheap bags.Just got my ugg boots! They are absolutely beautiful, and the quality is just amazing. No wearing them in, no blisters just absolutely snug strait out of the box.I have had these ear buds for a couple of days now, about 10 hours listening so far. Have to say they are comfortable in the ear, while just sitting or working out, along with excellent sound. My ipod, palm lifedrive and desktop stereo powers these just fine.I am pleased with the perfect fit of the timberland boots I ordered.
